Join us for a Magical Mural Tour exploring the history of Barstow Route 66 from Stone Age to Space Age!
Tour meets at Desert Discovery Center, 831 Barstow Rd, home of the Old Woman Meteorite, the largest meteorite found in California & San Bernardino award winning Environmental Education Center!
Enjoy the natural history exhibits followed by a slide show presentation exploring 100 + years of Barstow Route 66 with historian Steve Smith.
Car caravan tour of the murals stopping along the way for a closer look at the History & Mural information regarding the Main Street Mural artists and painting process. Spot the hidden jack rabbit and win a prize!
NASA Goldstone Visitor Center - share an informative presentation about the planets and the story of space travel and explore the exhibits Goldstone is one of three complexes around the world known as the Deep Space Network (DSN) established to provide the ability two- way communication with robotic spacecraft.
At the end of the tour check out the Route 66 Museum and the Rail Road Museum, both located at the Barstow Historic Harvey House.
