MS Run the US
Barstow Community Hospital will serve as the finish line between segments of MS Run the US, an ultra relay run that raises awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis(MS) research and support.
MS Run the US is an annual ultra relay run across the United States. The event is the first and only 3,260-mile relay from coast to coast. The run begins in Santa Monica in April and finishes in New York City in August. Nineteen individuals are running 160-mile
segments over the course of six days to raise funding and awareness for MS.
On April 12th, Barstow Community Hospital will serve as the finish line for segment 1. Phoenix residents, Laura Allred and Heather Betsko, will complete their 172-mile route from Santa Monica to Barstow. They are scheduled to cross the finish line at noon. On April 15th, Tabetha Wolfe from West Bend, WI. will begin segment 2. She will be running
204-miles and finishing in Las Vegas.
"The reason we're so excited to partner with Barstow Community Hospital is it gives us the opportunity to raise awareness and reach more people in the Barstow community," said Amy Wirtz, Community Engagement Manager for MS Run the US. "That's our primary goal with our relay across America for MS."
