We are searching for a Marketing Director who is a leader in developing and executing strategies to increase revenue and resources.
As the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for developing strategies to raise revenue and increase dollars directed to support the Mojave Valley United Way’s (MVUW) priorities for the constant changing conditions in our community.  This position builds, supports, and advances workplace campaigns by creating innovative presentations to attract and sustain resources (financial, volunteer, and advocacy) that support MVUW’s strategic direction and community impact initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains strategies and programs to ensure year-round revenue generation.
  • Develops annual fundraising goals and is responsible for accuracy of dollars raised.
  • This position is the key leadership role in building the Mojave Valley United Way (MVUW) brand.
  • Define the vision for the MVUW brand, ensuring brand consistency across all channels and platforms.
  • Responsible for managing, shaping and improving the perception of the MVUW and increasing the awareness and visibility of MVUW among the general public and MVUW donors.
  • Oversee the creative direction and production of all marketing materials and assets.
  • Lead the creation of marketing and communication strategies to support MVUW events.
  • Develop annual Marketing and Events goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of events ranging in scale from intimate donor events to large-scale experiential events, including budget management and market site planning.
  • Identify and secure event sponsorships, as well as in-kind and media sponsorships to raise revenue for the MVUW.
  • Partner and Communicate with the members and organizations of our Community.
  • Write, review, and analyze grant submissions for consideration.
  • Manage all grant submittals.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with prospective and funded partners.
  • Maintain regular communication with MVUW’s grantees and share relevant information about resources and partnerships offered by MVUW.
  • Stay current on market, competition, best practices and trends.  Apply them when applicable.
  • Represent MVUW at community and business events.
  • Regularly communicate plans, report on results, and set goals and expectations with the MVUW Board of Directors with confidence and clarity.
  • Attend Board of Directors meetings as well as other internal/external meetings as required.
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice to reflect the needs of MVUW.
  • Bachelor Degree in related field or
  • Associates Degree with 5 to 10 years’ experience    
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years fundraising, marketing, or sales experience preferred.
  • Relevant experience; Non-Profit and/or Donor Relations preferred.
Personal Attributes:
  • Driver’s License and valid reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, with the ability to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
  • Self-motivated and independent with a strong sense of focus and organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and Public Speaking abilities,
  • Types and Varieties of Communication Skills.
  • Computer Skills and proficiencies.
  • Grant Writing.
  • Ability to translate complicated subject matters, such as policy and advocacy work, into simple, compelling, and clear communications.
  • Effective relationship builder, particularly with key constituents such as Board Members, Corporate Partners and Sponsors, and New Business targets.
  • Ability to relate well with people from diverse groups.
  • Full working knowledge of the mission and goals of the Mojave Valley United Way.
  • Holds self-accountable for achieving results.
Position Overview:
  • Part-Time Position with potential for Full Time.
  • $ 25.00 per hour.
  • No Benefits package.
  • Hours of Work based on qualifications and experience.  Subject to annual review based on performance.
